If you need easy, delicious dinner recipes you're in the right place! Kitchen Skip is a go-to food blog for busy parents who crave wholesome, flavorful food but don't have a lot of time to cook.
All of the recipes on Kitchen Skip are made with both parents and kids in mind. A Kitchen Skip recipe is easy, delicious, appealing to parents and adaptable for the tastes of kids.
Every recipe here is a meal that I have fed my own family. Some of our favorites include Instant Pot chicken and dumplings, crispy tofu tacos and Instant Pot pork butt.
Meet Jenny Meier
Hi, I'm Jenny! Professional recipe developer and busy Mama of 2. I develop recipes for Kitchen Skip and my Substack newsletter in my sunny LA kitchen.
I also work as a recipe development consultant for SANS Meal Bar.
I've been writing and cooking for a long time. I have a degree in Communications from the University of Washington and I'm a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. I spent years gaining valuable culinary experience in restaurants, cheese shops and wine stores in Seattle, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles before I began developing recipes full-time.
For many years I was a recipe developer and cookbook author for the leading Paleo site Marksdailyapple.com. During that time, I also wrote articles and crafted recipes as the Cheese Guide for TheSpruceEats.com.
In 2019, I finally started my own food blog and Kitchen Skip was born.

Why Is My Blog Called Kitchen Skip?
I was feeling burned out. Cooking dinner was no longer a joy, it was an endless and overwhelming chore. I felt like I was cooking the same boring dinners over and over again.
I had two little kids and I was often overwhelmed by the unavoidable fact that I needed to feed my family dinner. Every. Single. Night.
Not to mention breakfast, lunch and all the snacks in-between. I started this blog as a way to pull myself out of my slump. Writing recipes for other busy parents helped motivate me to cook for my own family in a more organized and thoughtful way.
My blog is called Kitchen Skip because I want to inspire myself (and you!) to happily skip into the kitchen, instead of dragging our feet and dreading the task.
I also want simple, nourishing recipes and a simple meal planning strategy that lets me skip a few nights in the kitchen each week.
Sound good? Let's do it together!
